A place to gather and share information about the Thomas Willcox and Elizabeth Cole Willcox Family of Ivy Mills, PA. For more information see the Home page link above or contact Deniane Kartchner at Denianek@gmail.com. My husband is a descendant of Thomas and Elizabeth's son James who married Prudence Doyle. Their son John's daughter Prudence married John Christopher Kartchner.

Note: This is a work in progress! I am trying to verify everything before I post, but feel free to send me corrections and/or suggestions. It’s also not a complete history of Ivy Mills or a website for current operations, although I will gladly try to answer any questions and/or lead you to the right information.

Samuel E. Willcox death certificate

Today I found a death certificate for Samuel E. Willcox. The information that it gave me was:

1) His parents are John H. Willcox and Sarah Ellis
2) He was born 8 Aug 1840 and died 30 May 1909. He was 68 years old.
2) His address at time of death was 4239 Jacawanna (or Sacawanna?) Sr - 23rd Ward - I need to make sense of this address
3) He was born in Philadelphia - so in 1840 John H & Sarah were in the Philadelphia area.
4) His occupation was cotton manufacturer
5) Place of burial Leverington Ave (*see note)

Conclusions:
1) Source to verify his parents' names,
2) Most likely the same John and Sarah who "removed to Kensington" in other documents - because this is in the Kensington area (the undertaker's address is Kensington).
