A place to gather and share information about the Thomas Willcox and Elizabeth Cole Willcox Family of Ivy Mills, PA. For more information see the Home page link above or contact Deniane Kartchner at Denianek@gmail.com. My husband is a descendant of Thomas and Elizabeth's son James who married Prudence Doyle. Their son John's daughter Prudence married John Christopher Kartchner.

Note: This is a work in progress! I am trying to verify everything before I post, but feel free to send me corrections and/or suggestions. It’s also not a complete history of Ivy Mills or a website for current operations, although I will gladly try to answer any questions and/or lead you to the right information.

I'm currently working on tracing this family back to England through this link:

John Willcox mentioned with William McKnight

The following information is of interest to me because my link to the Willcoxes,William Decatur Kartchner, was apprenticed to a Mr. McKnight in Philadelphia.

John Willcox, mentioned here as the administrator of William McKnight's estate, I believe would be Thomas Willcox's son. John moved to North Carolina in 1759 which seems to fit with the timeline of this entry.

WILLIAM McKNIGHT, at present residing in Philadelphia,
Captain of a Company in the Honble, Colonel William
Gooch's Regiment of Foot, shortly to imbarque on ship-
board on an expedition against the Spaniards; dated Sep-
tember 21, 1740; appointed wife Martha, executrix, and
all property to her and his daughter Martha; witnesses;
William Moode and John Reily; administration to John
Willcox of Philadelphia, merchant, October 23, 1751, the
widow having renounced. F, p. 423.
